Speaking Event: "How To Write Romantic Novels and Get Published" at Pimlico Library

London-based readers, I have an author appearance to tell you about, just in time for the release of The Light Over London in the UK.

If you’ve ever wanted to write romantic fiction, I will be speaking at Pimlico Library with Brigid Coady on writing the genre and getting your books published. This is a great chance to ask lots of questions about ideas, structure, and writing process. You’ll also have the chance to ask about the publishing both in the US and the UK.

Meet Me in Boston!

Boston-area romance readers, you're in for a treat! The New England Chapter of RWA is putting on a book signing from 6 to 8 p.m. this Friday at the Burlington, Mass. Marriott. The line-up is incredible with big-name authors from all genres of romance, and I'll be in the thick of it signing books and giving away downloads of The Governess Was Wicked!   I love meeting readers, and this is one of the few events I'll be doing this year that doesn't require a conference registration fee to attend. Please stop by and say hi!

First Draught & The "I Love You"

Just a few quick things to tell you about today. Read

I'm over on the Contemporary Romance Writers' blog talking about why your characters don't always have to say, "I love you," at the end of your romance.

Meet

I will be speaking at the NECRWA "Let Your Imagination Take Flight" conference from April 24-25. Audra North and I are presenting a practical guide to self-publishing an anthology or box set with great tips about idea creation, organization, and royalties distribution. I'll have more details on that appearance in the coming weeks, but if you plan to be there please say hello and introduce yourself.

Watch

The women of First Draught are back at it again talking about problematic heroines. Why can it be so tough to get a heroine just right? Are we harder on our heroines than our heroes in romance? Plus we dish on the heroine tropes we just can't stand.
